There are wind mills, 40 churches, a Venetian castle, and picturesque small coble stone streets and shops. The spectacular Byzantine Monastery of the Hozoviotissa and the magnificent bay of Aghia Anna are within 15 min drive. The lovely mountain villages of Tholaria, Potamos and Langada are within the hiking route of the Aegiali area. Amorgians are characterized by honor, dignity, hospitality, and respect for tradition and integrity.
Amorgos offers plenty to historians as well – connected to Minoan Crete, some of the most important finds of the 3rd millennium BC were found here, notably the stone figurines now displayed in the Athens Museum of Cycladic Art.

Getting there
The easiest and cheapest way to get to Amorgos, which was taking a Blue Star ferry from Piraeus Port. It takes around 7 hours to get there but that’s because it stops at 4 or 5 other islands which makes it very excitement journey. It is a big adventure for families with children to enjoy any moment in this sailing.
